We work closely with our customers to continually improve our products and services using an integrated management system for safety (OHSAS 18001), environment (ISO 14001) and quality (ISO 9001).

History

Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Canada, Ltd. (MHPSC) was established in 1970 to support the sales and execution of new power projects in Canada as well as to provide ongoing maintenance and after sales service. In 1988 our facility in Saskatoon was established to manufacture components locally and perform ongoing service.

1970 First MHPS entity in Canada is established in Toronto.
1971 First MHPS steam turbine generator (STG) unit installed in Canada - Unit #3 at Queen Elizabeth Power Station for SaskPower.
1976 Power Division office established in Calgary.
1988 Facility established in Saskatoon with 30 staff.
1995 25th Anniversary of MHPS in Canada.
2002 First Gas Turbine Generator Units installed in Canada. Units 4~9 at Queen Elizabeth Power Station for SaskPower.
2003 First STG Major Retrofit Project in Canada – Coleson Cove Units 1~3 for NB Power.
2007 First Super Critical Coal Fired Power Station in Canada – Genesee #3 for Capital Power Corporation and TransAlta. Awarded “Plant of the Year” for 2007.
2013 25th Anniversary of Saskatoon facility.
2014 Hitachi, Ltd. and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries form a global joint venture for their thermal power generation companies under the name “Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, Ltd.”
2015 Canadian subsidiaries merged to create “Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Canada, Ltd.” with offices in Calgary, Saskatoon and Niagara-on-the-Lake.
2015 First MHPS Advanced Gas Turbine Combined Cycle (GTCC) Power Plant in Canada – Shepard Energy Center for ENMAX and Capital Power Corporation.
2015 First STG unit for Carbon Capture & Sequestration (CCS) installed in Canada – Boundary Dam Unit 3 for SaskPower. Awarded “Plant of the Year” for 2015.
2015 45th Anniversary of MHPS in Canada.
